in the last weekWe visited Sri Lanka recently for the first time and loved the food. The food at Hasthi is exactly the same as what we ate in Sri Lanka. The staff are lovely . They even have Sri Lankan Lion Beer which is also very good, especially the dark beer. For anyone who wants to try delicious authentic Sri Lankan food and Sri Lankan hospitality this is a must. Don’t think it is like Indian food as it is not. It is much better.

2 weeks agoOne of the best Sri Lankan restaurants, I have had many Sri Lankan restaurants food, very authentic flexible with spice level , I personally can’t handle too much spice but love to eat meals that’s very freshly made with Sri Lankan spices… and amazing portions, service and great venue. Can’t believe it’s in Newcastle. I have had many meals with many friends here, it’s always praised by all my friends, a nice way to introduce Sri Lankan cuisine to my friends before visiting Lanka or just for curiosity.
