4 months agoWe used Dish Dining to cater our 25 person wedding. The food was amazing!! Both the Sri Lankan and non-Sri Lankan family and guests loved the food. The amount of food was spot on. Their service was excellent - they arrived on time, brought chafing dishes + cutlery + plates and helped set up our food area. The cost of catering fit our moderate budget. I would absolutely use Dish dining to cater an event again, not to mention, they have the most authentic Sri Lankan food in Sydney.

7 months agoFawlty Towers, Colombo special! We arrived at 5.45pm and ordered for a group of 4 adults and 4 kids. My wife is Sri Lankan and we were taking some friends to dinner. They had run out of dhal. No food arrived until 7.15pm, 1.5 hours later. The pan rolls arrived first and were left in the fryer about 5 minutes too long and were well overcooked but we were starving. The kottu roti was burnt. The dosai and hoppers were just ok and the curries were ok but straight out of the baine marie so not sure why the delay... the spice and heat was definitely dialled down for westerners but still tasty. There was no communication from staff about the delays. It is a small open kitchen and the 2 kitchen staff were barely pretending to cook anything. Judging by the fact that they spent a lot of time on the phone, I suspect they have an off-site kitchen somewhere. Mid way through our meal an angry customer told the front of house girl that this used to be his favourite restaurant and now it is just bad. I have to agree. Save yourself time and drive out to Pendle Hill / Toongabbie or Seven Hills for authentic, fresh Sri Lankan food. Such a shame because there is a lack of Sri Lankan food in the inner west.

7 months agoWe've had numerous bad experiences at this restaurant, but decided to give it another go after their recent refurb to see if things had changed. It's a shame that they have not really improved as the food has occasionally been excellent, but on this trip the dahl was served very cold and the kottu was only lukewarm. Won't be visiting or ordering again. Edit: In their response, the restaurant has blamed the delivery service for our experience, but this order was not delivered by a third party. We collected the food ourselves shortly after ordering and opened it promptly.

7 months agoJust dont bother, arrived at 8.25 , it shuts at 9.30. We shouted at counter for service but nobody came. We sat at table outside until 8.49 when lady eventually appeared and then spoke to the table next to us in foreign language which is fine if you at least get acknowledged which we didnt. Wont bother going again, sad as always like to support small local business.
