2 weeks agoDropped by Spicy Swan right after Eid prayers at the Huntingdale mosque today, and man, what a find! I was feeling pretty peckish and looking for some solid Asian comfort food. The vibe was spot on. As soon as I walked in, they greeted me with some complimentary papadums—absolute legends! I’m a massive fan of fish and beef, so I was stoked to see their variety. I went for a combo meal which usually comes with chicken, but I asked the staff if I could swap it for beef instead. They were super chill about it and sorted me out with a massive portion of beef without any drama. The food was top-notch and definitely hit the spot. Total damage was $20, which is a fair dinkum price for the quality and portion size. Plus, they take online payments, so it’s easy-as if you’re not carrying cash. If you’re around Huntingdale and looking for some authentic Sri Lankan/Asian grub that won't break the bank, give these guys a go. Good onya, Spicy Swan! 🍛🔥

3 weeks agoThe lump rice was very disappointing. It was super dry and only had two small pieces of roast chicken, coconut sambol, eggplant, and a cutlet — no chicken curry. For $40, it was not good or authentic lump rice.

2 months agoThis is hands-down the best spot in Melbourne for truly authentic Sri Lankan food—the kind of flavours you’d find in a traditional village back home. Their curries are rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced; the rice is cooked just right; and even the short eats are spot-on, crispy, flavourful, and made with real care. The place is spotlessly clean and hygienic too, which makes every visit feel reassuring and enjoyable. What truly sets it apart is the heart behind it: two wonderful Sri Lankan souls running the show, with genuine customer satisfaction as their top priority. Their warmth, attentiveness, and passion shine through in every interaction. I can’t recommend them highly enough—they’re my absolute favourite and consistently exceed expectations.

3 months agoDisappointed. Shame for tasty Sri Lankan food. Not tasty and rice not edible as not boiled enough. Not recommend people looking for Sri Lankan food.
